PNG Sons showcases important events of Ramayan
Organized special exhibition in Pune
Pune: P N Gadgil & Sons (PNG Sons), a prominent jewellery brand, is currently hosting a lithograph exhibition in the Pune to commemorate the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The exhibition, taking place at the Kothrud Happy Colony and Satara Road (near Walvekar Lawn) showrooms, features an impressive array of Ramayana artifacts. These include lithographs, miniatures, manuscripts, postcards, and more, sourced from the extensive collection of Ajit Gadgil, the founder of PNG Sons & Zapurza Museum of Art and Culture. The Aundh showroom is concurrently presenting a diverse painting exhibition inspired by the Ramayana, showcasing works by various artists. The lithographs prominently depict key events from the Ramayana, such as Payasadan, Shri Ram's birth, the Hanuman-Shri Ram meeting, Bharat, the killing of Tadaka, the Shri Ram-Ravan battle, Ayodhya, and the coronation ceremony. Additionally, the exhibition includes over 250-year-old miniatures depicting Ramayan stories and a set of 50 postcards with illustrations representing the entire epic. It is first time the master pieces on subject like Ramayan have been displayed. Renowned artists like Raja Ravi Varma, M. V. Dhurandhar, B. P. Banerjee, Vasudev Pandya, and others have contributed paintings based on the Ramayana. Many of these artworks, originally created by artists like Ravi Varma, have been reproduced as lithographs and are now part of Gadgil’s collection. The exhibition, centred around the Ramayana, is open to visitors until January 28th. A group artist Shruti Kulkarni, Jayashree Jejurikar, Shivani Mahajan made a live demo of Ramayan paintings. Omkar Bhide has curated the exhibition. Special Collection on Ramayan PNG Sons has also unveiled a collection of collectibles related to Ayodhya, including items like Ram Mandir, Pens and sculptures in non-silver as well as coins in gold and silver, Ram Mandir and Ram Darbar in silver. The brand has received an overwhelming response from devotees and souvenir collectors in less than a week since the display of these collectibles began.
Ranjeet Natu, senior vice president of the Hindavi Swarajya Mahasangh and a chartered accountant, performed the inaugural ceremony. Omkar Bhide, Mr. Paygude, Ajit Gadgil, Mr. Natu, Mahesh Vispute, and Vivek Joshi attended the opening.
